Nap time blues

As I type this both girls are crying hysterically. It's nap time and they have decided they don't like it. We've separated them for this nap and they are each crying from their own lonely room now.

Jourablogging has become difficult recently. Between stress at work and being diagnosed with severe tendonitis in both arms keeping up on the blog has seemed like the thing that has to give. Which is sad because it reminds me of all the delightful little things that make my life bearable right now.

Hero finally learned to say Mama last weekend. And she sings. She will remember tunes from songs we sang days ago and "ba-ba" her way through them on pitch. I feel so happy whenever it happens - is that normal? Don't tell me if it is, I want to keep living in a world where Hero is a musical genius.

Tethys is getting good at communicating and when she is able to effectively tell us what she wants her face looks like it might burst from happiness.  Conversely, when she can't communicate well or when we don't give her what she wants it can turn into a meltdown. Granted, the meltdowns don't usually last for more than a few minutes but those minutes stretch into eternity.

  1. The blog author at her best. I really enjoyed reading this prose.

The girls will treasure these growing up blogs later in life except when they are embarrassed. Put together they paint a picture of family life--to turn a phrase "the good, the bad and the ugly", but there is mostly good or great; a few bad moments captured and no ugliness what so ever; they are our grandchildren and we are proud of our Seattle kin.
