Buffy

 Well, it's done. Last night we introduced the kids to Buffy.

We started with Season 1, Eps 1-2. "Welcome to the Hellmouth," and "The Harvest." Then we skipped to Ep. 13, "Prophecy Girl." I had qualms about skipping "The Pack" and "Angel," but ultimately, I think it's better to just get to Season 2.

They rightly pointed out that it was super similar in structure to most Anime shows they watch these days. Tethys thought that SMG's fighting stance was WEAK. They also introduced me to the term "plot armor," which protects main characters like Buffy, so they weren't too concerned when she was condemned by a prophecy.

(And yes, there will be plenty of conversations about JW and separating art from artists and abuse of power and privilege... but that's just how we watch shows anyway.)
