It started out with no kids at all (thanks Auntie!) and Nick and I rode out bikes in some lovely sunny weather down to a Seattle Coffee Institution, Lighthouse Coffee.
The girls and Auntie met us there and we had a great time climbing all over the rocks that make natural benches outside. The girls had some yummy hot cocoa (with ice).
Then we met at a favorite park for a picnic lunch. Lots of running and chasing and laughing ensued.
We hit a bit of a snag at nap time, no napping happened, but the girls were in good spirits. Then Auntie and Papi helped me pack them up and we went off on a solo journey to Seattle Center to meet Edie and Calvin.
For the girls' birthday Edie got us tickets to go see The Adventures of Spot at Seattle Children's Theatre
So I knew we were in for some unexpected mood changes.
We had a few mishaps:
SuperLovey LOST! (Now Found)
Tethys can't find MAMA! (Until she did)
Bathroom drama (no explanation required)
But mostly we had a great time. (Thanks Edie!!!)
Then Mama took the girls to Seattle Center for some dinner which turned into Mama trying to be "Cool Mom" while her children were running and giggling a football-field size expanse away.
(Note: I may have looked like "Cool Mom" outside but inside I was a ball of anxiety. Sigh.
Finally we headed back to the car, but not before encountering the MaCaw Opera House water feature, which is a great place for kid-play.
It was a nice end to a nice day with my ladies.

A very long day that hopefully ended well. Can't wait to do that stuff with the girls.
