The pregnant body

Aesthetically, I find the pregnant body very pleasing.

There's something (to borrow a word from my beloved grandmother Edna) luscious about it. It would be decadent if it weren't so functional.

Despite all my little woes I was struck last night about how lovely and perfect it feels to see something that fulfills its purpose. Now, I don't mean to say that women are all meant to have children, or only meant to have children, because I don't believe that. But uteruses, yes, that is what the uterus is for. And there's something beautiful about a tool being used exactly how it evolved to be used. Especially after thinking that maybe my tool was meant to go unused forever.

Plus, curviness is next to godliness.
