The highlight for all of us was getting the little girl cousins together. This proved to provide both the highest highs and the lowest lows as the girls worked out their power dynamics.
We started the week with Fairy portraits. Adorableness ensued.
Getting all four to smile at the same time proved impossible.
Duck face!
Eleni and Karina gave consistent smiles.
Tethys and Hero allowed their personalities to show through.
But the girls had fun otherwise (poor Karina got 60+ mosquito bites and Tethys got none!) And we saw two bull elk! One in the water near our camp and the other actually in the camping area - we were forced to go stay in the cars while the danger passed.
Then there were ferry rides and face painting and July 4th fireworks (sparklers were a hit at my parents' house) and gratitude for air conditioning and multiple bathrooms!
Of course, since the cousins went home T & H have been on their best behavior. Perhaps I dare hope that the hitting, pinching and potty talk are behind us? Nah. I doubt it.
An amazing week! That's what families are best at.
